By 2035, communities hold the reins.
Communities are autonomous, operable, extensible, and legible. People belong to them knowing the tools serve the community, the terms are negotiable, and anyone can leave without losing who they are.
This is the intermediate milestone on the Vision 2050 path: the point at which the first three stages (community, tools, trust framework) have been working long enough that their results are ordinary rather than exceptional. Written to be checked, that sentence becomes three conditions. By 2035 we intend them to be ordinary:
Any community can run its own coordination. Policies, decisions, events, signatures, and the archive live on one operating layer, on the community's own systems or with an operator it trusts and can replace.
People move without losing themselves. Roles, decisions, records, and rights travel between tools, because identity and history belong to the person and the community rather than to the software.
Agents act under visible authority. Software that acts for a community does so under auditable identity and policy, with delegation that can be traced and revoked. The black box is disqualified from community work.
