A shared view of what is coming.

Status: Running

Horizon holds the signals, the outlook they suggest and the actions that follow, reviewed as things change.

  1. Signal

Two nearby repair workshops closed this year.

    Noted 4 March
  2. Outlook

Repair capacity in the area is thinning.

    Medium confidence
  3. Expected outcome

Members travel further, or stop coming.

    One of two branches
  4. Action

Open a Saturday session before winter.

    Proposed, not decided
  5. Review

Confirmed in April. Look again in June.

    Nothing here is fixed

Illustrative foresight · an example signal, judgement and review date

Foresight that is reviewed, not remembered.

A judgement nobody revisits quietly becomes a conviction.

This is an experiment on the layer: Horizon tracks the current view of external change over time and turns that view into usable strategic artifacts, shared across every project.

What it is

Horizon is intentionally broader than any single project. The canonical home for:

  • signals and observations

  • outlooks and directional judgments

  • expected outcomes and scenario consequences

  • recommended actions

  • periodic review and reanalysis

Structure

DirectoryWhat it holds
outlook/Domain-based future outlook notes with standardized metadata (horizon, confidence, impact, volatility)
signals/Observed facts, weak signals, and evidence inputs
outcomes/Expected consequences and scenario branches
actions/Actions to take under the current outlook
reviews/What changed, what was confirmed, and what needs revision

The working rule

Nothing in Horizon is permanently fixed. Each document is a present-time judgment that must be reviewed as new information appears. Foresight that skips review decays into conviction, and conviction is what Horizon exists to replace.

Who it is for

  • Strategists and operators who need a shared, reviewable view of where the external environment is heading.

  • Product owners who want their roadmap to respond to signals rather than stale assumptions.

  • Anyone in the Unifyhub community who wants to contribute a signal, challenge an outlook, or propose an action.
