A balance is the end of a chain of events.

The chain has to survive, so the answer can be rebuilt later.

This is an experiment on the layer: Capital is the financial domain of the ecosystem: one place to see, understand, and manage capital across accounts, markets, currencies, assets, obligations, and decisions still to be made.

What it is

  • A single financial picture spanning personal and organizational money rather than one of them.

  • A system of record for financial facts: accounts, holdings, transactions, valuations, obligations, and the history that explains a balance.

  • A decision surface: what can safely be moved, invested, saved, or allocated, with the reasoning kept rather than lost.

  • A home for execution as one capability inside a larger picture, never as the whole product.

The need it answers

People and organizations answer financial questions by stitching together banks, brokerages, spreadsheets, accounting tools, and dashboards that do not agree. The stitching is manual, it decays, and the answer it produces cannot be reconstructed a year later when someone asks how a decision was made.

Why the financial domain raises the bar

Reconstruction is mandatory. A balance is not a number, it is the end of a chain of events, and the chain has to survive.

Provenance is not optional. Where a figure came from, when it was observed, and what it was derived from travel with the figure.

Authority is explicit. Actions that move money carry proportional confirmation and an unambiguous account of who authorized them, whether a person or a delegated system acted.

How it fits the ecosystem

Capital consumes the shared layer like every other domain: identity and policy from the foundation, evidence about markets and filings from the collection layer, governed reactions for anything automated, and the same event backbone so accounting, compliance, and planning can see financial reality without a private integration.

What it is not

  • Not advice. The product organizes facts, records reasoning, and executes what it is instructed to; judgment stays with the people accountable for it.

  • Not a closed brokerage relationship. Where money is held and where it is executed remain the community's choices.
